Wilson’s is blessed to be part of the “Green Industry”. We grow life enhancing plants that add oxygen to the atmosphere and filter pollutants in our environment. These plants add beauty and serenity to our lives. We care about our community and the impact our business has on our planet. We are looking for ways to go “greener” yet.
Here are few steps we are taking:
Wilson’s taking control of its trash. Wasting less, reusing more, and recycling often is our new mantra.
Reusing our large nursery pots and production trays has always been in fashion at Wilson’s. Beginning in fall 08’ we began
recycling all of our plastic pots trays and water bottles. Everything goes from our tiny 2 inch to our monster 14-inch pots. Thanks to
Phoenix Recycling, we are reducing the amount of waste we contribute to the area landfills.
- Rain barrels, compost bins and many products made from renewable resources are now available at Wilson’s. Use organically derived plastic weed cloth, recycled paper weed barriers and garden gloves made from renewable bamboo in your quest to green up your garden.

GREENING UP at Wilson’s. We
are making a switch from synthetic fertilizers in the
production of most our annuals, vegetables and perennials.
Organically based Plant Food is making our business
easier on the environment, safer for our employees and safer
for our loyal customers.
- We have expanded our “Earth Friendly” and ORGANIC product selection. We now give our guests greener options from organic fertilizers to all natural fungicides
 to tackle those garden dilemmas. We have even added an organic seed section to start your organic vegetable gardens off right. So if you are interested in changing the way you garden, Wilsons’ has a complete line of organic fertilizers, organic fungicides, organic seeds and other organic products to help you be a green gardener.
- Interested in providing habitat and food sources for local wildlife? Wilson’s can be your supplier of native trees, shrubs and perennials to bring life to your backyard. From Arrowwood Viburnums to Virginia Bluebells, we are continually expanding our native plant selections
- To further our commitment to greening our garden center, Wilson’s takes advantage of Licking County Recycling Drop-off centers, recycling items such a nursery pots, plastics, cardboard, and paper when possible. Visit to learn about other local recycling opportunities.
Bring your clean, empty black nursery pots to the tree and shrub area at Wilson’s, and we will recycle them for you.
